CoupleMeditating

What if there was a way to wake up, to experience pure awareness or the ground of being with another while interacting, relating in the moment and in the space between yourself and another?  Imagine not having to just sit on a cushion in intrapersonal silence.

In the last few years several folks have been experiencing an interpersonal or inter-subjective “We Space” to use a Ken Wilber term where awakening is happening. It’s a space were collective awakening is happening.  When two or more persons are using mindfulness to drop into pure awareness, an interpersonal or inter-subjective field is formed. It’s the power of the Zendo where more than one are gathered.  But in most Zendos there is no talking or little relating in an interpersonal now, that gives voice to what is arising between people in that moment.

This process or collective awakening experience is being called “Inter-subjective Meditation.”  It’s a “big” & clunky term, not the best of terms to describe a process we are still just beginning to develop language and distinctions for.  But it is an exciting development and one I am using more and more with couples and others in relationship, to get at what is arising in this moment between people to deepen their relationship, to deepen their connection and to open people to more authentic relating.

Follow me as we explore this space together.
