How I Support Client Growth
The coaching supports a client in:
- waking up (increased awareness about self, others and relationships, interrelating and integrating deeper internal awareness and higher states of consciousness) and in ↲
- growing up (higher stages of growth in several different intelligences) as well as in developing a healthy integration of body, emotions, mind, and spirit. In this approach to coaching clients are also supported in ↲
- cleaning up (identifying and transforming blind spots or shadows, allowing these to become another resource for growth). Then the client is helped to more fully in ↲
- showing up with more inspired, passionate and creative action in the workplace and in the world.
Developing Emotional Intelligence for Success
One of the most important lines of growth and intelligence is Emotional Intelligence (sometimes referred to as EQ or EI). EI is the ability to understand and manage emotions. People with a high degree of emotional intelligence know what they’re feeling, what their emotions mean, and how these emotions can affect others.
Daniel Goleman, an American psychologist, helped popularize EI by identifying five key elements:
- Self-awareness.
- Self-regulation.
- Motivation.
- Empathy.
- Social skills.
These five elements have been further defined, developed and broken down into the following 4 domains and 12 competencies of EI:
